This was achieved designing a pedestrian bridge across the wadi. The fact that a small wadi separates the school from the road, allowed for the opportunity to celebrate the area’s unique land-flow system and at the same time allow for direct and accessible entrance to the site. The keys to successful desert landscaping are knowledge and planning. While the average annual rainfall amounts to only 90 mm a year, floods are not uncommon in the desert Wadis (Arabic and Hebrew term for valleys). Many desert gardens are incredibly vibrant and full of plant life. The in-between spaces and marginal areas there planted with trees that are durable to the harsh soil and water conditions. ![]() The waiting area for the busses that collect the students at the end of the school day was designed as a freestanding structure covered by a long stretch of fabric. In the case of a new school designed for the Ramat Ha Negev Regional Council, there are various shaded areas. The partially salty soils and the fact that rainwater is scares limit the choice of vegetation and forces the designer to find creative ways to introduce shade. I tried to include all tools I’m aware of. Let’s see our complete list of textual modeling tools. Complete list of diagrams as code tools to render UML and other types of models from a few lines of text Click To Tweet I wonder if this typical usage scenario is what discourages companies to (barely) offer any kind of commercial solution for this market. That’s why I was saying that these tools are more of an option for quick and dirty model sketches (for documentation or blueprints for early design discussions) more than a serious and deep modeling activity. Still, as you’ll see in the list below, the features, expressiveness, and robustness of such tools are rather limited in most cases. Both aspects represent a huge boost to the adoption of these tools. And programmers typically feel more comfortable with textual languages than with graphical ones. The fact that UML models are stored as text simplifies their integration with a variety of tools (like version control systems) that programmers already use in their everyday work so there’s no need to learn/buy/install additional tools. In fact, since most textual UML tools have an online editor, they are a jackpot for occasional modelers.īut why are text-to-UML tools so popular? The short answer is that textual modeling tools have a very low barrier to entry. Together with online modeling tools, they are the go-to option for all people looking for some kind of lightweight solution to draw some models. Indeed, the textual UML tools market is one of the fastest-growing segment in the UML tools market (based on my own perception of visitors’ interest). This category of textual modeling tools is also known as diagrams as code (for similar reasons as many model-driven tools are renaming themselves as low-code tools). Many of these textual modeling tools focus on UML but beyond text to UML, we have also text to ER, text to BPMN, text to architecture and even text to chatbot tools. ![]() A textual modeling tool supports the use of textual notations and languages to describe software models and automatically renders the corresponding graphical diagram from that textual description. ![]() 7/13/2023 0 Comments Phileas fogg books in order![]() ![]() Series Descriptionĭominoes is a full-colour, interactive readers series that offers students a fun reading experience while building their language skills. ・Seven pages of grammar activities in every book allow for consolidation of learning. ・Five pages of project work enable you to build class presentations, poster making and group work into your classroom. ・Reading Check, Word Work and Guess What activities are fun ways to check comprehension. ・Before Reading activities provide background information and build prediction skills. Phileas Fogg must get back to London by December 21st or lose all his money. This is the beginning of one of Jules Verne's most exciting stories. 'Do it, and I pay you 20,000 pounds,' says his friend Stuart. I can't see this book being to everyone's taste, it's too close in style and form to the late 19th and early 20th century authors to appeal to all (which in itself is an admirable accomplishment and clearly intended) but anyone who can see the entertaining story and insightful ideas through the slightly dry narrative, or indeed likes the style and form of the classic authors such as Jules Verne, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or Edgar Rice Burroughs should love it.'Today you can go round the world in eighty days,' says Phileas Fogg. These alien abilities include an extremely high intelligence, superior strength and longevity along with the desire to do great "good" or great "evil" and they fall into two distinct families, the Eridanean (agents for good) and the Capelleans (villainous rogues) who battle each other in a continuous secret war. ![]() The story is set within the authors "Wold Newton" series which makes the supposition that the 1795 meteorite strike near the titular village caused genetic mutations to anyone passing by which gave them extraordinary abilities (which were then passed on to their descendants). It's got a slight air of the Steampunk about it too, enough to be considered part of the genre but it's also got a style all it's own. The story more than makes up for this though, it's a great tale that manages to completely change the original story without contradicting it or causing any continuity issues and the way Farmer manages to meld characters from different series is just genius (for example Captain Nemo is actually the one and same master criminal James Moriarty). ![]() The author does an admirable job of keeping the literary style similar to Vernes, which has it's own advantages and dis-advantages the story has an air of authenticity about it however like the novel it's based on it does feel a little dry and in places the descriptive narrative that details areas that Verne didn't know about slows the pace. As such it makes sense if you read Around the World In Eighty Days although it's not essential. Rather than re-write Vernes accounts, Farmer expands the story in new directions and offers a greater insight into who (and what) the characters are. Farmer merges characters from some of Vernes other novels such as Captain Nemo and them blends these with other fictional works including Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series. It's being given a new lease of life thanks to Titan Books, originally published almost 40 years ago.Īs the title suggests the novel introduces the idea that there was a second, previously unknown journal that Phileas Fogg wrote detailing a secret history of his famous trip. The Other Log of Phileas Fogg is very much a "literary mashup" novel which fills in the blanks from Jules Verne's classic novel "Around the World in 80 Days". ![]() 7/13/2023 0 Comments Kobo n905 touch edition![]() Highlighting, adding notes, and looking up definitions in the built-in dictionaries is also possible by long-tapping a passage in any part of the book.
